The ECC covers the following themes:
- the rights and obligations of EU and UK citizens regarding residency, employment, education, health access, taxation and savings
- the economic and financial relationship between the UK and the EU
- defence, security and foreign policy issues that may be common to the UK/France interface as well as across the EU, including non-EU migration
- exchanges relating to education, research and culture, as well as environmental challenges
